I know I know

Yes I know it's been way too long since my last post. Quite alot has happened in the past 2 months. Well kinda. Adam turned 1 :D I cannot believe how big my baby is! He's definitely not a baby anymore. He is into anything and everything, walking and running around like crazy. It's so funny, he will just laugh randomly at himself. He says "Jenna" all the time! Once in a while he'll say Dad and he never says Mom. EVER. Oh well. He is kinda a momma's boy when he wants to be. He usually doesn't want to be held which makes church a nightmare. Anyways on Adam's birthday we got new windows installed in our house! It looks a million times better! Hmmm what else, Rusty's cousin Quinn is staying with us for the summer, oh and Rusty got burned really bad at work. It has been an emotional roller coaster but he is pretty much better now. The burns were just 1st degree to his face and chest. He goes back to work Tuesday which will be really weird cuz I've been used to having him home everyday for 3 weeks straight! I know that this happening has brought us alot closer as a family. I'm sure more things will come out of this which will be for the better I hope. I will try to be better at blogging but there isn't a whole lot to write when something does happen! Anyways here's some pictures! Enjoy!

Yard Sale!

This Saturday, along with a few neighbors, we are having a yard sale. I'm hoping we get a good turn out so we can make a little bit of money. We really need some extra cash for Adam's birthday and for all the little getaways we plan on taking this summer. If you would like to come then please text me for the address 801-867-2540

On another note, we were accepted for the supplemental maternity insurance. But denied for major medical. :( I should have kept my mouth shut about having bi polar disorder 4 years ago, then we would have been able to get it. Oh well... I'm just gonna take it as a blessing in disguise maybe? We could get other insurance but it would be 200 bucks, just for me! No thanks! I'm not paying 200 just for myself plus the 145 for maternity. We'll probably just get insurance for Adam but I am really in a bind. Adam's 12 month check up is on the 27th of this month. If we were to get insurance for Adam, it wouldn't be effective until June 1st. Now I could try and get his appointment pushed back, but I really don't want one more thing to worry about. We have so much going on and I just know I'd forget about it if we were to change the date. Plus who knows if he could even be seen the week after. They are always really busy and they like their appointments to be really close to their birthday. Aaahh! I don't know what to do! Pay 140 dollars for his scheduled appointment or reschedule for the week after and pay the 57 a month to have Adam insured and a 25 dollar co pay. I just don't know if it's worth the hassle of filling out a whole new application and trying to schedule his dr app for a week later!

Looking Up

We finally looked into buying some health insurance and we found a plan that we like! I hate to say it but Rusty still won't have it. :( Talking with our new agent he said that the most important person to be insured right now is me. That is because I want more children. I do plan on getting pregnant again this year so getting insurance really is a priority. We also got Adam insured. You will probably all think that this plan is ridiculous because of how the deductibles are. We will be paying 122 a month and the deductible is 7500. BUT the deductible for maternity is 5000. I know that is still steap but it really is all we can afford right now. Again BUT we also got supplemental maternity insurance. It is kind of like Aflac if any of you have heard of that but since they don't have that in Utah anymore we went with APL. Atleast I think that's what it's called. That is 145 a month. Then at the end of your pregnancy they pay you 3000 dollars. Also if there are complications and the baby has to be hospitalized for longer, they pay you more. So basically it's like we are putting money away but getting more back in the end. So that will help us tremendously with our 5000 deductible. I don't know if we have qualified for either yet, but we should know in a few days.
In other news we are getting new windows! I'm so excited! They will be installed the first week of June and I can't wait! It will make such a difference with the way our house looks and feels. I also want to put shutters on a couple of our windows. I think that will make a huge difference too. Our yard on the other hand needs tons of work. We are just going to redo the whole front yard. It is nothing but weeds and is soooo UGLY! I'm really excited to be done with everything on the outside so our house looks nice! The carpet on the inside I hope can happen sometime in the next year cuz most of you know that is hideous as well.
I cannot believe that Adam will be a year old next month! It is too crazy! He definitely is not a baby anymore. He walks all over and he is the biggest dare devil. He has also learned how to get past my barricades. He just climbes right over them or moves the pillows. I don't want him to be this big! Anywho that's my little update. I will try to be better at blogging more!

I'm really bad

This past Sunday on the 4th was Rusty's birthday. I know I should have posted something then but we were super busy and I just forgot to even write anything! So I'm doing it now. Happy 23rd Birthday to my wonderful husband! Thank you for all that you do for our family! I love you so much!

Sorry

I haven't been very good at blogging lately, but that's mainly because there hasn't been too much to write about. Adam is getting so big! I can't believe he is going to be a year old in less then 2 months! He is going to start walking any day now. He already takes some steps and will even stand up on his own in the middle of the floor without holding onto anything. He says mama and dada and I'm pretty sure he is saying grandma and adam in those too. He really keeps me busy, he is always into something and is always on the move. He won't hold still for anything! He is also a very big eater. Sometimes it looks like he eats as much as I do and yet he is still so skinny! Here are some pictures of his cute haircut done by my sister-in-law Sheena. Surprisingly he did a really good job sitting there while she cut it! I didn't get any pictures of her cutting it but they are still cute!

Already?

Since we've been in our ward, which has only been 2 months, we've been asked to say the opening and closing prayers in sacrament, speak in sacrament, and now we have callings! I was called to be on the Activities Committee, which I'm pretty stoked about, and Rusty was called to be the 2nd counselor in the Sunday School Presidency. Not sure how he feels about that yet. I guess we'll find out when he gets put to action. I love to be organized and have things planned so I think I will enjoy my new calling. :D
Not much else has happened since getting our callings. I'm just loving being home all day with my babies. Yes I said babies, I do count my dogs as babies. Oh ya we did get another dog. He is a lab/collie mix and he is very playful and loving. His name is Dewey which is kinda weird but the name suits him. He is a good dog and him and Jenna get along great. Things are pretty good right now! Except for lack of health insurance! So if anyone out there knows of good cheap individual plans with good maternity, then let me know!

Out of It

There hasn't been too much going on to write about. Still don't have health insurance, I'm sorry but I didn't want to pay 460 a month and then 80 on top of that for dental. That's more than half of our mortgage payment! No thanks! I think I'll shop elsewhere. I've been sick this week and since I don't want to pay 75 dollars for them to tell me that I have strep when I know I do, I just have to tough it out. I've had strep many times in my life so I know when I have it. Luckily neither Adam or Rusty have caught it yet and I'm praying that they don't at all.
Adam is 9 months old already! I can't believe how fast the time has gone. He has his 9 month check up and monday and that appointment will be 86 dollars. Hey it's better then 116 a week! Anywho.... He is into everything right now! He really does drain all the energy out of me. I'm so glad he takes 2 naps a day, otherwise I might go insane!
I really want to go on vacation sometime this year, I don't know why it came out of nowhere but it just popped into my head that I want to go somewhere fabulous. I don't know where or when but I'm determined that we will go! I also want to go to a really fun water park this summer. Somewhere like Cherry Hill, Seven Peaks or Raging Waters. I've been to Raging Waters but it's been a while. I love swimming and can't wait for it to be warm so I can take Adam all the time! I also really want this week to just be over so this stupid sickness will go away and I can have Rusty here all weekend. I just feel so blah..... Probably cuz I'm sick but I hate this! I just want to go out and do something. I hate being stuck home all day. Sorry this is turning into a complaining blog. I hope I get out of this rut sometime soon.

Swimming

Rusty's mom and stepdad own some time shares at a really nice resort called Westgate up by Park City. They go up there twice a year for a week at a time so we always go up and stay a night or two. They have lots of fun stuff to do and since I love swimming we decided to take Adam swimming and he loved it!

He's probably going to be like me and will want to go swimming all the time!

Trip to the ER

I guess you could say that it all started very early wednesday morning, around 1 am. Adam woke up and he just didn't sound right in the way he was crying. Rusty brought him in to me and he was burning up. We gave him some medicine, rocked him back to sleep and went back to sleep ourselves. He woke up a few times after that but always seemed like he wasn't feeling good still. We went all day yesterday with him being ok. He just wasn't acting like himself. Well I went to my moms and had Rusty meet me there because we were going to talk to someone about our car and trading it in. I knew we'd be gone a long time so I asked my mom if she would watch Adam. Well we were gone for way longer than I thought and my mom told me he still wasn't acting like he was feeling good so she took his temp and it was 101. I called my dad and asked if he could go over and have him and my cousin give him a blessing. Well we traded in our car for a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a little bit of a lower payment than our other car. If everything works out with the bank at the interest rate that we want then we will keep it. If not then we'll look for something else. Anyways we didn't get home until 10 and I was pretty mad about it. After getting into bed Adam woke up and so we rocked him back to sleep and gave him a little bottle. Well then at 2 am he wakes up again. Rusty brought him into me so he could get something for him and when I felt him he felt like he was on fire. He was way too warm. So I immediately told Rusty that we had to take him to the emergency room. He kept saying take his temp to make sure. I really didn't want to because I just knew that it would be way high. After some arguing I finally took it and it was 103! I then yelled at Rusty and told him we had to go right now. Of course at 2 am there are no urgent cares open so we had to go to the ER. I told the dr that he has had a cough for about a month and so he said he'd order a chest x ray to see if anything was going on. He then looked in his ears. An ear infection was at the beginning stages. So they gave him some omoxicillin and wrote a prescription and gave him some motrin. As we were waiting around for the x ray to come back Adam's fever went completely down. He was so hyper! He was acting like he had just slept for 13 hours straight. While Rusty and I sat there like zombies. We were so tired! The x rays came back with some viral congestion but the doc said that it should clear up with help from the antibiotics as well. So we went home and got there about 5:30. We all went to bed and then Adam woke up at 8! Aahhh I was so tired! We got the antibiotics for him, gave him some motrin and finally at 10:30 he went to sleep. And now it's time for me to go to sleep! Although I should be preparing my talk for church on sunday since Rusty were both asked to speak. I'm not to thrilled. I sound like a robot when I'm nervous and I tend to talk way fast. I guess I'll have to put the preparation off until tomorrow. I am way too tired to think!

Been way too long

It has been way too long since I have expressed my gratitude for my family. I love them all so much and all they do for me and my family. I fall more in love with Adam and Rusty everyday. Adam is getting so big! He has 2 teeth on the bottom, he is crawling around like crazy, he pulls himself up on things to stand up, he has even stood for a split second not holding onto anything, and he feeds himself cheerios! Where has my baby gone! He is the light of my life and I love him so much! I am so blessed with everything I have! I love my life!

Time to Paint

We have received gift cards as house warming gifts, so we are going to use them for paint. I hate the color of the walls in our house, and every room is exactly the same. I think it's time for a change. I know you might all think I'm crazy since we haven't even been here for a month, but I'm already sick of looking at the color of them. Plus the previous owners did a terrible job at painting. The doors inside the house have never been painted ever, so the paint is coming off and they look really dirty then they actually aren't. I have no idea what colors I'm going to paint the walls. I know for sure we are going to paint the cabinets in our kitchen black, and get new countertops since we are extending it to where the fridge was supposed to go. Blah I have no clue what colors.

Feels Good

I feel so much better now that everything is in it's place and we have internet and a home phone. I love our house and our new ward! They were all so welcoming and I am so greatful. But I do miss my old ward still. :( I hope I get to see all my friends from there often! And hopefully soon I can make new friends in our new ward. I can be a pretty shy person when it comes to big crowds of new people. I just hope it doesn't take me as long as it did in our other ward to make friends!
